At Rosenfeld’s, we look forward to the High Holidays with a special kind of excitement. They are a fun and very busy time for us, filled with familiar faces and lots and lots of tradition, some that we’ve even created ourselves. So if you’ve never celebrated with us, here are a few things to expect as we prepare for this very busy season.
Round and Round We Go! All Challah baked during the High Holiday season is in the traditional round shape. But don’t fret — our beautiful braided loaves will return after the holidays pass.
Challah Under the Big Top. Okay, so maybe not big, but it’s still a good-sized tent and it does get crowded! During the peak days of the holiday season you’ll notice a tent outside our store, likely filled with people and many, many shopping bags. We started this years ago to allow for quicker pick-up of pre-orders and to accommodate the larger than ordinary crowds of customers.
Did Somebody Say Pre-Order? Oh yes, and the earlier the better! We bake our bread fresh daily, so we can only accommodate a limited number of orders each day. We’re actively taking pre-orders for the holidays now so get yours in ASAP!
And What About Those Lines?!?!? Yes, there will be lines. Weekends are typically easier since people aren’t in as much of a rush, but we can’t schedule when the holidays fall so it’s best to be prepared to wait a little. The good news is that our pick-up line has become a bit of a community event that people even look forward to as a chance to see and chat with neighbors and friends.
So if you’re new to celebrating the High Holidays with Rosenfeld’s here’s our top 3 tips for a successful order pick-up and celebration:
- Place your pre-order early;
- Allow plenty of time for order pick-up;
- Bring an umbrella if it’s wet out, it’s New England after all!
